Juan Pablo Rodriguez, Esq. manages the Latin American practice of the firm from his office in Valencia, Venezuela, but is constantly travelling throughout Latin America. He is a Venezuelan lawyer with almost two decades of experience in Latin America and the Caribbean in the fields of government relations, market access, deal brokering, structuring and negotiation, and strategic business planning.
Mr. Rodriguez is admitted to practice law by the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados del Distrito Federal in Caracas, Venezuela. He was educated at Universidad Santa Maria where he finished his law studies, and was awarded the degree of Abogado de la Republica Bolivariana de Venezuela.
Mr. Rodriguez has broad access to and carefully nurtured relationships with local government and business leaders in virtually every country in Latin America. He has an expert understanding of the mechanics of government in the region, and its interplay with modern business, which he is able to leverage in order to facilitate business that is both inbound to Latin America and outbound from Latin America. He assists companies and individuals in business development by identifying and obtaining access to strategic partners throughout the region, managing the relationship and creating the right team in what becomes absolutely essential to the ultimate success of the venture. This demands a sophisticated combination of political, business, cultural and interpersonal skills.
Mr. Rodriguez has designed and implemented local business models and strategies that are currently in use by a number of transnational corporations doing business in Latin American countries. His business models frequently exploit opportunities that exist in the local legislation and regulation of the target jurisdiction, and meet logistical and procurement challenges.
Mr. Rodriguez is Founder and Former Vice-President of the Venezuelan Business Club, an institution that has become the largest Venezuelan society of its type outside Venezuela. During his five years as Vice President of the organization, Mr. Rodriguez and the rest of the board helped several non-profit organizations such as the Red Cross, the Cancer Society and St. Jude Hospital among others. The VBC has been an extraordinary success, and has remained as a non-political favored organization for more than 7 years.
Before launching his entrepreneurial law and government relations practices, Mr. Rodriguez served in a European Foreign Service for three years, and had a leading role in several private corporations.
Mr. Rodriguez is married to Leticia Rodriguez, and has two sons, Kevin and Juan Pablo. He is passionate for aviation, and in his free time he enjoys sports and music and opera.
